Capabilities

What Evaluator Desk does.

Red-pen annotations

Ticks, crosses, underlines and short comments on the page, saved with the script and visible to moderators.

Model answer side by side

The marking scheme for each question opens next to the answer. Head examiners can add notes for all examiners mid-evaluation.

Mark from home or centre

Secure browser login with device binding and one-time codes. Institutions can restrict marking to approved centres.

Fair allocation

Scripts are allocated by subject, language and load. No examiner receives scripts from their own college if you choose so.

Daily targets and pace

Examiners see their allocation and progress. Controllers see completion by subject and can reallocate in a click.

Remuneration statements

Scripts marked, rates and deductions are calculated automatically for examiner remuneration and TDS.

How it runs

Step by step, in the exam season.

  1. 1

    Examiner appointed

Appointment letters and login go out from the controller's office.

  2. 2

    Scripts allocated

Masked booklets are assigned by subject and examiner load.

  3. 3

    Marked on screen

Examiner reads, annotates and enters marks per question.

  4. 4

    Submitted to moderation

Completed scripts move to sampling and re-check automatically.

In detail

Designed for long evaluation days

Examiners may mark hundreds of scripts in a week. The Evaluator Desk is built for comfort: keyboard shortcuts for marks, zoom that remembers your setting, a calm ivory canvas and no clutter.

  • Keyboard marks entry and page navigation
  • Pause and resume without losing place
  • Offline-tolerant: marks saved every few seconds
  • Head examiner dashboard for each subject

Questions

About Evaluator Desk

Q1Can examiners mark from home?

Yes, if your institution allows it. Logins are bound to approved devices, sessions time out, and screenshots and downloads are blocked in the marking window.

Q2What internet speed does an examiner need?

A normal broadband or 4G connection is enough. Pages are pre-loaded a few scripts ahead.
