Script Scanner
Every page scanned. Every name hidden.
Answer booklets are scanned at high speed, checked for missing or blank pages, and the roll number is masked behind a barcode before any examiner sees a single page.

Capabilities
What Script Scanner does.
Barcode-based masking
The cover page with roll number and name is separated from the answer pages and replaced with a random code. Examiners only ever see the code.
Page-count reconciliation
Each booklet's scanned page count is matched to its printed count. Missing, duplicate or out-of-order pages are flagged before evaluation.
Blank page detection
Blank and nearly blank pages are detected and marked, so examiners know a page was empty, not skipped by the scanner.
Works with standard scanners
Use high-speed document scanners you already own, or our scanning centre partners for board-level volumes.
Centre-wise tracking
Track bundles from each exam centre: received, scanned, verified and released for marking, with counts that must match the attendance sheet.
Encrypted from the scanner
Images are encrypted on the scanning workstation and uploaded only to your institution's storage, never shared across clients.
How it runs
Step by step, in the exam season.
- 1
Bundles received
Booklets arrive by centre, matched to attendance and absentee lists.
- 2
Scanned and checked
Pages are scanned, counted and checked for blanks and quality.
- 3
Identity masked
The cover is separated and the booklet gets a random evaluation code.
- 4
Released to examiners
Verified booklets are assigned to examiners by subject and load.
In detail
Anonymous by design, not by policy
With paper evaluation, a student's roll number can be seen by anyone who handles the booklet. With Script Scanner, the link between booklet and student is held only by the controller's office and restored after moderation.
- Separate decode key held by the controller
- Image quality check for faint ink
- Re-scan requests from examiners
- Absentee and malpractice booklet handling
Questions
About Script Scanner
Q1Do we need to change our answer booklets?
No. We print a barcode sticker for the cover of your existing booklets. If you reprint booklets, we can supply a barcoded cover design.
Q2Who does the scanning?
Your own staff with our software, or an approved scanning partner at your premises. Booklets never need to leave the campus.
