Capabilities
What Paper Setter does.
Multiple independent setters
Each setter works alone on a draft and cannot see the others. The controller sees only who has submitted, not the content, until moderation.
Moderator review
Moderators compare drafts against the blueprint, correct errors and approve sets. All edits are tracked line by line.
Random final selection
The final set is chosen at random from approved drafts, so no single person knows which paper will be used.
Time-locked release
Papers are released to each centre at a set time with a one-time key. Centres in different time slots receive different sets.
Controlled printing
Centre printing is watermarked with the centre code and print count, so a leaked page can be traced to its source.
Complete access log
Every open, edit, download and print is logged with user, device and time, and the log cannot be edited by anyone.
How it runs
Step by step, in the exam season.
- 1
Setters invited
The controller appoints setters per course with a deadline and blueprint.
- 2
Drafts moderated
Moderators review each set against the syllabus and blueprint.
- 3
Set chosen at random
The system picks the final paper from approved sets.
- 4
Released at exam time
Centres receive the encrypted paper and key only in the release window.
In detail
The confidential room, without the courier
Physical paper movement is where most leaks happen. Paper Setter replaces sealed packets with encrypted, time-locked digital release and traceable printing at the centre.
- Watermark with centre code and copy number
- Separate sets for morning and afternoon sessions
- Emergency replacement set on one click
- Two-person approval for release
Questions
About Paper Setter
Q1What if a centre has an internet outage at release time?
Centres can pre-download the encrypted paper hours in advance. Only the decryption key arrives in the release window, and a backup offline code can be issued by the controller if needed.
Q2Can setters work in LaTeX or Word?
Setters can use the built-in editor, which handles equations and diagrams, or upload a document that the moderator converts.
